How is the lock powered?

4xAA batteries - Over one year of battery life with normal usage. LED will blink yellow when the batteries are running low.

What happens if batteries run out?

The door will remain in its current state. If it's locked, it will remain locked.

The lock is fully hands-free & fully manual. Simply use the manual knob to operate the lock until the batteries are changed.

Will the sensor trigger when I do not want it to?

No. The Hy Lock does NOT use the sensors normally seen in restrooms.

We use top-of-the-line hardware and software technology that ensures the lock will only lock/unlock when you intentionally wave.

Additionally, the locking mechanism may only be activated while the user is occupying the stall.

Does the lock work with in & out swinging doors?

Yes. The Hy Lock works for in & out-swing doors and can be oriented on the left & right sides of a door.

Can you adjust the lock alignment?

Yes. We’ve all dealt with older stalls that have shifted since installation, making it hard to lock the door. The Hy Lock is designed to alleviate this issue and can be easily adjusted to account for any shift in the partition system over time. See the installation manual.

1. Push the Door Closed (Use elbow, hip, etc.). The door will hold shut.

2. Hover your hand in front of the hand sensor (hand icon). The door will lock.
